After successfully piloting in 2002 Just Addictive Music (JAM) is pleased to announce the official launch of Beats Diversity Workshops funded by The National Foundation for Youth Music and the Arts Council of England.

Beats Diversity workshops provide an inspiring and challenging arena for young people aged 12-18 to explore their musical interests and develop life skills through music, drumming, graffiti and Dj'ing.

Beats Diversity work with professional musicians, DJ's and producers and provide a total learning experience plus the chance for all participants to record their own unique piece of music in state-of-the-art recording facilities. Two modules, <<Recognising Rhythms>> and <<Introduction to Basic Audio Equipment>> are accredited by the Open College Network as an entry level qualification

The inclusion of DJs in these workshops will permit a wide variety of recorded music from around the world as well as well-known popular music to be blended with authentic rhythms. Familiar rhythms such as dance, hip-hop, soca, samba, jazz and reggae will be included blending street culture with traditional rhythm.

at a selection of previous projects this will give you a better idea of what we can do for you.

JAM is the brainchild of Paul Pryce who spent three years in the Gambia and was captivated by the rhythms from this West African country. After returning to England he decided that fusing rhythms from Africa, Latin America and all round the globe would be a stimulating means of teaching young people. The organisation has developed a fascinating range of workshops all of which offer young people the opportunity to develop new skills and to appreciate a wide range of art forms.
