Title: New Route Radio
New Route radio was a project for young men living in Barnsley that are not either excluded from school or not attending full time lessons. The workshops took place over ten hours and during that time the group took part in sessions covering MC skills, DJ’ing and music productions. The young people said that they wanted to show the listeners what it’s like being a young male in Barnsley and to share some of the music that they enjoy with you!
“Am A Chava” is a rap that was written by the group, they also produced the backing music for the recording. Also available for download is “Lee’s Groove” a short piece of music created for New Route radio by one of the participants, we think this is an unbelievable achievement and this was a first try!
