Event: The South Yorkshire Racial Harassment Forum is a partnership comprising of Rotherham Multi Agency Approach to Racial Incidents, Barnsley Multi Agency Panel, Sheffield First for Safety and Doncaster Racial Multi-Agency Panel and in 2007 Barnsley hosted the second annual conference in Barnsley Town Hall.

Attending the conference were young people from Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham. The Conference was primarily aimed at young people from ages 11 to 19 years old.

The overall aim was to explore racism in all its various forms, and how it affected individuals.

Just Addictive Music were commissioned to put together a package of workshops that would help the young people attending to discuss the issues around racism and pose questions to be put to the panel in the afternoon session. The event began with Forum Theatre – a provocative and interactive performance including improvised scenes. This original piece, Al the Alien was created by Sohail Khan and Despina Hafiz. Young people then took part in a choice of workshops; Dance, Drama, T-shirt design and MC/Rapping.
