Zebras with Hats? A workshop and performance project for young people aged 11 plus

Be part of a thrilling new workshop performance project for young people that enjoy being imaginative. Whatever you enjoy - dance, MC’ing, poetry or creating visuals, this project has something for everybody at every level.

Over four weeks, participants will create the set and their own unique performance to be staged at The Cooper Gallery.


At Just Addictive Music we have over 2 decades of experience in creating new thrilling & innovative large or small events to educate and entertain audiences of all kind. We work with organisations of all types.


At Just Addictive Music we feel that Black History Month is a very important opportunity to highlight and raise awareness of Black History and experience in all communities at all levels.
 

Each Saturday in August at Barnsley YMCA there will be four different workshops all beginning at 11.30 am:

  • Visual Art workshop – will be responsible for the design and creation of the set, props and all other visual elements of the final production.

  • Spoken Word workshop – will be lead by Khadijah Ibrahim the founder of Leeds Young Authors and will offer the opportunity to learn about performance poetry and develop your own work.

  • Dance workshop – have you ever wanted to produce your own dance routines? You will be working with a leading dance teacher selecting the music and producing original dance pieces.

  • MC’ing and Drama workshop – Kockee is a Leeds rapper/performer experienced in all styles of rapping from hip hop to hard core. Along with Sohail they will demonstrate how to perform and present yourself on stage and bring your own personality to the performance.
